From the back of the book:
When comedian Greg Fleet decided he needed a holiday 'somewhere exotic and somewhere cheap', Thailand seemed like the perfect choice. Little did he realise that this impulsive trip away would turn out to be somewhat more exciting than the brochure promised.

Abandoning himself to new experiences, and his desire to just 'let things happen', Fleety is befriended by a Thai man and finds himself caught by in a gambling scan where he is kidnapped, threatened with an axe and forced to let some cunning gangsters have their way with his mother's credit card.

He then crosses the Thai-Burmese border into a war zone, with a seventeen-year-old film nut as his guide, and ends up in the jungle hideout of a rebel training camp under fire from the military. As you do.

Every traveller's worst nightmares happen to Fleety in this hilarious, action-packed book that will make you think twice about relying on the kindness of strangers.

Whoops, I must have forgotten to journal this one when I got it - sorry! I picked this little book up from my TBR pile this morning, as it was the only one that would fit in my handbag. I think the guy sitting next to me at the bustop thought I was a loony, as I was laughing out loud at Greg's adventures - some of them before he'd even left Australia (on his friends deciding he needed a wild party the night before his trip - "you're going on a really long journey tomorrow, you'd best get really sick").
This will be a nice quick read after the epic thousand-pager I've just finished, looking forward to some more laughs :-)

A quick n fun read - I've never heard of this Greg Fleet guy, but apparantly he's quite a famous comedian, and I can imagine why after reading this book. That poker game is just hilarious ;-) Only downside was the swearing - some of it was used well, but some was just plain unecessary.
Will probably give this to my brother, I think he'll like it (I hope!).
