I haven't actually read Mme de Beauvoir's memoirs. I did read The Second Sex a few years back tho, and liked it, mainly because I was a shaved-headed adamantly furious feminist at the time (ah, being twelve, before you discover Johnny Depp and Jim Beam and actually, you're ashamed to admit it but what the heck, you kind of spookily LIKE cooking. By the way, CUNT POWER!) I found this book with best intentions of reading it but I had just moved back to France and was absorbed in settling in (oh okay, and being unfaithful to Mony with Emily Dickinson. My BABY.) Anyway this is pure philosophical show-offy culture I guess, but worth a go, I'm going to try and read it over the summer, after exams are over and all that pesky jazz. Bonne lecture!
