I found this book on a Discovery Egypt cruise along the Nile between Esna, Aswan and back again and left a couple of my own books (Spartan and The Dilbert Future) in return.
I found the short breathy sentences, which are supposed to convey a sense of urgency, annoying. The characterisation is a childish, but not unlike most other thrillers. The collapse of the facade of Lin, when his Buddhist credentials are challenged is laughable.
However, I did read this almost solid during the final lazy hours on the cruise and on our journey home. So it succeeded in holding my attention so it is not too bad.
I tried to place the East Berlin locations, but I have already forgotten the names of these places. That's a shame.
