Taking to the Bookcrossing meet-up this Saturday lunchtime 29/3/08, 12 noon onwards at Sadlers. Come along and have a gorgeous freshly made baguette, or some fresh coffee, or a lovely piece of cake! Everyone is welcome :-)
Picked this up at the Daventry meet today on the off chance that this was on the list of 1001 books to read before you die, it isn't on the list but lots of other Atwood books are...very interested in reading it at some point.

I read this one back in January but didn’t journal for some reason!
This was a very interesting mix of short stories! Some of them had more meaning to me after watching a documentary about Atwood on the BBC recently- she spent a great deal of her time during her childhood years in a log cabin with no running water and amenities.
Although I preferred her novel I did enjoy her short stories and hope to be reading more of her work soon.

I only wanted this book so I could read the short story Bluebeard's Egg. Unfortunately, I found it pretty disappointing. Just the banal musings of a middle-aged married woman with too much time on her hands.
Having no desire to read any of the other stories contained in these pages, I released it on the charity bookshelf at Tesco Extra on my way to work. Hopefully it will find a more appreciative audience.
