This book will officially start travelling in Hawaii. Don't know how it got to Jackson, but IT wanted to go home, auntie em!! So it clicked it's little red fins together and said the magic word, "kamalamalama" and poof, it's on it's way. Wish I was going with it! Take a close look and tell me you wouldn't want to be there, too!

What a gorgeous little book! -- Sorry I'm late journalling--but it arrived this weekend, and I took it down to bed to start enjoying. I'm finding the sections introducing the familes really interesting and enjoyable, and so many of the fish shown are exquisitely beautiful! I want to go snorkling in Hawaii!! Can I come visit Kamalamalama??

And for those of you who didn't get to recieve the book directly from Hawaii, I have to let you know that Kamalamalama outdid herself decorating the package with colourful fishies! The down side was the tape---I tried to extact the book, packaging intact, but just couldn't do it :( And on the up, I'm sure it brightened my postman's day!

I didn't like reading reading about fish that are hunted for "sport." Correction, it wasn't the fishes I didn't like reading about, it is the "sport fishing," and that most of these fish are not even eaten.

I sent the fishies sailing on their way today, headed to yokaye, as their next stop on the Well-Travelled Wild Release Challenge World Tour.

The envelope is not as cute as when it left Hawaii, but i was able to cut out most of Kamalamalama's fish reasonably intact. And when I stopped at the $1 store, I found bright lovely tiny tropical fishies; I kept one and put the others in the envelope. So there should be a tiny wooden tropical fish for each stop. Happy travels little fishies--

What a joy when I opened the mail and saw such a bright and fish covered envelope...there wasn't a doubt in my mind which book had made its way to Tennessee. :)

Will share this with my daughters before sending it on its way... thanks for sharing!

And thanks, Erishkigal, for sending the wooden fishies...my pick will look perfect in my Bookcrossing scrapbook, I hope the others find good homes along the journey! :)

What a beautiful little book and what a fun idea to include the fishies. It was such a surprise! Mailing off to spazcat to continue its journey around the world - such fun. Go little fishies!

The fishies have made it to Orlando! They will get a couple of days rest before they start their long swim to England and cnfotp on their continuing journey home.

I found it amusing that the author's first name is an actual type of fish! :)

I enjoyed reading about the different fish of Hawaii. A few of my favorites were the Moorish idol, the Wrasses, the Goatfishes and the Mahi Mahi.

These little fishies are now ready to swim the seas to get to cnfotp in England. Safe journey!!!
