You were right, M. I did love this book. Not only is Mr. Irving a masterful story teller, he also knows how to end a freaking book. You never feel cheated, slighted or like you've been left hanging at the end of one of his novels. You always get enough closure that you are not disappointed or left wishing there was more. I love that! So many of the books I have read lately have been great until you got to the end and then *BAM*...it's like the author couldn't think of a way to end it so they just left it totally up in the air...I hate that. I like closure. Closure is good. Wrap it up in a neat or even a messy package. I don't care. Just wrap it up and don't leave me hanging. I like to know what happens to my characters. I can't say that I loved this one quite as much as A Prayer for Owen Meany...so far that is my all time favorite of his novels that I've read. (If you haven't read that one, M, you need to. It will knock your socks off.) Though I did really, really enjoy this one thoroughly.

Thank you so much, dear! xoxoxo!!

I reallu enjoyed this. As with most of the Irving books I've read, took me a while to get into, but well worth the effort! Not my favourite one by him, but definitely worth reading.

Will find a new home for it soon.

A bit of a trial for me to get into. But in the end an enjoyable story once you get into it.
