Hoping to stay true to my Liberal heart, but I fear that in beating up the beast we may become the beast...

I must admit: I read this book in a spirit of cynical enquiry. I'm not happy with everything I see in politics, I don't like Fox, but I think that part of the reason that people get so upset with them is because they're successful. If they were poor and no-one listened, no one would care.
But I read the book anyway, and it was a good, informative and enjoyable read. Al Franken comes off as passionate, opinionated (not necessarily a bad thing) and best of all active.
What really annoyed me is the whole thing of 'everything in this book is true - unless its a joke'. OK, fine, humour is instructive, but... I think we're missing something when you fight force-fed porridge with tickle feathers....
A number of points in the book were interesting enough that I was tempted to Google them: and fell head-long into BlogLand where it is difficult to know who's talking, what's the agenda etc.
Parts of me are confused as ever...
I'll be passing it on to my brother for him to wild-release, unless some-one else wants it...
