I found this to be a wonderful "biography" about a beloved family pet. Like most biographies, it tells the good, the bad and the ugly. Sure, the author did not always do the right things raising this puppy, but this is not a book to teach you how to be a good puppy parent (some disclaimers would have been nice though). I don't know if someone who has not owned a "world's worst dog" (I only wish mine had been as good as Marley) can fully appreciate the struggles. All-in-all, it was a GREAT read. It made me laugh, cry and sigh. I hope everyone how happens upon this book gets as much enjoyment from it as did I. I did "cheat" for the first release and sent it directly to a friend who will send it on when she finishes it.

My friend epp_dog sent this book to me so that I could read it before it was released it "into the wild." I was sick with the world's worst cold when I read "Marley and Me" and it provided a much-needed lift, perhaps even saving my sanity that week. As epp_dog said, please don't use this book for advice on raising a puppy (there really are better methods of flea control that what the author and his wife used), but as entertainment, it's unbeatable. There were times that I, too, wished my dogs were as well-behaved as Marley - they could actually take him out in public! All in all, it's a wonderful read. I hope someone "catches" the book soon and enjoys it as much as I did. I realeased it this morning in our veterinarian's office.
