Received today thank you Lovesbooks :)
This book is currently living in my Bookcrossing bag, along with 2 others book for this challenge, (one that I'm reading) and The Unbearable Lightness of Being, which I just like to have on me. I think I'll have time to read this before passing it on. It looks good.
"Based on truth, this novel of romance and suspense provides answers to many of the mysteries that surround the Mutiny on the Bounty" (taken from back cover)
I'd never even heard of the Pitcairn Islands until the controvesy last year so I'm interested in this retelling of the story.
To go to louisesalter next who will post anywhere or release
I read this over the weekend and raced through it quite quickly. Isabella really annoyed me - are there really people out there who are so passive?! At one point I almost threw the book in disgust! That said, I really liked the ending and found it quite emotional.
I'm sending this to louisesalter today for the challenge today.
Louise: can this go to KarmelK next? She's in the USA, please PM her. Thank you xxx
I was a bit skeptical about this book, as it's not the sort of thing that I would normally read, but I have to say that I was supprised and I relly enjoyed it. I agree with cnfotp, that Isabella was a bit weak willed. But I did enjoy the tension in the book, and the sense of tradgey as you can see what's going on but are unable to do anything about it. I was also drawn in by they elements of truth, trying figure out to what extent the story has been embelished, which bits are based on fact and which are pure fantasy. Over all, an enjoyable read.
Will send it off to KarmelK asap.
Got this book today. I did a quick perusal, just to get a feel for it. But since today is the deadline, it will be getting released before I can do it justice. It looked interesting. I must agree with Louise, I'd be doing that comparing fact with fiction thing, too.
Even for the little bit I read I was picturing Errol in this role! LOL
He wasn't in the hollywood version, that was Clark, but he did play Fletcher Christain in an Australian version of Mutiny and it was his very first role.
Okay off to release. Thanks so sending it Lou and cnfotp!
And I LOVE the postcard. Does it really snow where you are? We had an ice storm today, but not much snow yet this year. It will come.
