What a nice surprise, a book in Afrikaans - and my colleague, who is half Flamish learned about the boers and that an Afrikaans language exists.

Afrikaans op die jaarlikse meeting in Castricum! Ek gaan dit lees en my Afrikaans weer 'n bietjie oefen!
Almost finished. After traveling in the USA myself, I do recognize some of what van Heerden writes. Funny, that after so many years, some things are still the same. I enjoyed reading in Afrikaans although I had to think hard for some of the Dutch translations.
