Fatal Remedies
2 journalers for this copy...
Given to me by my mum, who really likes detective novels. I don't mind them, but they usually get shoved down my 'to be read' list by other stuff. Anyway, this has the attraction of being set in Venice, a place I absolutely adore - no cars!!!! - so I'm going to read it next.
Well, the only thing I actually liked about this book is the Venetian setting. Having visited the city last year, and absolutely loved it, I enjoyed following the characters round in my mind's eye, remembering the sights and sounds of the Rialto, the market, the campos. But as for the quality of the writing - very pedestrian. And the plot - nothing exciting at all.

Dull, not particularly well written and no suspense. The Venetian setting gives it novelty but the charactters are as watery as the location.
