I wasn't disappointed with this one, and will be said as the next one is the last one I do wonder though, if Claire etc can go through the circle, why didn't Jamie attempt it?

Thanks for sharing. Now on to CatrionaMoore, and I have made the amendments to the list order at the front of the book as requested by gailcm.

In the post Monday 10th.

The book arrived safely today and it seems a long time since I read Voyager and passed it on...I'll have to check up on that one.

I have another ring book before this one, always the way!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. Although I enjoyed Voyager, I was concerned that the storyline with Claire and Jamie had become stale. There were only so many scrapes he could get himself into, and there were only so many scrapes that Claire could rescue him from. Also the pair of them are well into their forties and to take a quote from an internet source when the US was founded, the average age at death was 35 years old! In 2000 BCE, it was 18 years old! People never want to get old, but when a fellow lived to be 40 years old in 1780, he was considered to be well past his prime. Not that any of Diana Gabaldon’s readers would ever suggest that James Fraser was past his prime.

Whilst I was having my hair coloured at the hairdressers I took the book along to read as celebrity magazines rarely hold my interest for more than five minutes. My hairdresser commented that she’d enjoyed the first couple of books, but had only got as far as Voyager, so I might be inclined to treat her at Christmas if I can find a reasonable copy. She said that she was rather smitten with Jamie although she wasn’t sure about his red hair. It’s amazing where all these women keep coming from, although I did resist the urge to tell her hands off!

Thankfully the storyline has been rejuvenated by focusing more on some of the other characters. I really liked how Brianna and Roger’s characters have developed and I would like to have seen more about Young Ian too. Rather than being concerned that the next book might be a disappointment I am eagerly anticipating its arrival.

I’m not sure who is next in the list as the book says it is Morpha but the JE says Teachie so I shall contact Teachie first.

Morpha has asked to be skipped this time as she is moving house. I'm not sure how this will affect future sequences as it would seem a shame that she misses the book altogether.

I shall be contacting kitkat8 and hopefully will pass the book along this week.

Have got CatrionaMoore to send this book back to me, so as the previous 2 in the series can catch up with it (I dont want people reading them out of order). I will send out when they are all caught up.
