"An American woman is summoned by a remote tribe of nomadic Aboriginals who call themselves the 'Real People' to accompany them on a 4-month-long walkabout through the Outback. While travelling barefoot with them through 1,400 miles of rugged desert terrain, she learns a new way of life, including their methods of healing, based on the wisdon of their 50,000-year-old culture. Ultimately, she experiences a dramatic personal transformation."
This wonderful book has arrived in my recycling box (!) via the postie - thanks so much for sending it, Katisha50! I've already cruised through it as it has had rave reviews from friends, and looks *very* interesting...

A very interesting book. I've googled a bit of info about it and it seems that it's controversial, and as far as Australian indigenous people are concerned, fiction. However many of the thoughts and ideas in it are really worth-while and it challenges my thoughts on life-style and the meaningless elements in many of our lives in the west, so definitely, a good read, even if it is fiction.
