One of my childhood favorites! And it still holds up after time. In fact, some of it made more sense to me as an adult, such as the discussions of civilization, and how civilization comes to be. I highly recommend this book to just about everyone! It's a Newbery medal-winning book, to boot. :)
I adored this book when I was little and it was so nice to have a reread...the rats scared me a little (then....OK, and now) - it's so wildly imaginative - a must read!
I vaugely remeber this being a cartoon on tv when I was young. I was kinda scared of it, as I remember I'm looking forward to reading this book to find out what it's all about.
I must have been a weird kid, this book isn't frightening at all. In fact, it's a very heartwarming tale of rodent life. The concept was fascinating about super lab rats wanting to make a better life in society. Then there's the single mother Mrs Frisby and her struggle to raise her babies. Did anyone think that Mr Frisby was a bit sneaky?
Received as part of a nervousness ring...
