In the Company of the Courtesan : A Novel

This is one of the books I am reviewing for Elle Magazine.
This tells the story of Teodorio Bucino, a dwarf in Italy. He works for a courtesan, Fiametta Bianchini and ensures she is well fed and well dressed so she can earn both their keeps. It tells of their flight from their richand priveliged life in Rome and how they had to start all over in Venice. The history of this time period is rich and detailed. The characters are very real and well drawn.

Enjoy!

Received today. Thank you so much!
This was interesting and entertaining, but I don't think it quite lived up to "The Birth of Venus". I felt the ending was lacking somewhat, and there were a couple of things about the character of La Draga which the author did not make clear.
And boy do I hope they cleared up some of the typos and sentences that didn't scan between this ARC and the finished edition!

Received yesterday as RABACK from wonderful FSR44. Liked Birth of Venus and going to gobble this one right up!
I'm tempted to write "what she said!" about FSR's observation regarding the errors in this softcover edition. Exasperating. Found the story compelling and fun and I STILL want to get to Venice someday.
