For years the history of Ancient Egypt has been interpreted by men. Now Dr. Joann Fletcher offers a feminine perspective & raises many questions about the so-called facts. This book is primarily about her search for & possible discovery of the mummy of Queen Nefertiti, wife of the 'heretic' king Akhenaten. Dr Fletcher's speciality is ancient hair & wigs & it's surprising how much information can be gleaned from a hair-piece thousands of years old!! Most of them contain remains of headlice, for example! I would recommend this book to a new-comer to Ancient Egypt, as it gives a lot of information in a clear & concise form. The possible existence of Nefertiti's mummy is still a matter of heated debate, but if this book makes you search for more information then it has succeeded.
