Small Sacrifices: A True Story of Passion and Murder

This book covers the case of Diane Downs, the mother who shot her three children during a car ride in 1983. One of the children died, and the other two suffered disabilities.
This is a reasonably good read, though I must admit, I'm not the biggest fan of Ann Rule's verbose writing style.

I found this book on a park bench on a bicycle/walking trail during spring break (early April, 2006). I had read about this concept of "traveling books" before, but never had found one before now, so I was excited! It just took me until summer to find the time to read it. I will now "release" it, probably at a small outdoor mall nearby---maybe near the bookstore in order to find a book-lover?
The book was very interesting--I had never read anything out of the "true crime" genre before. A rather sad and somewhat depressing book, but fascinating---I stayed up until 2 am several nights reading it. The events of the book took place in a town in Oregon where I have friends from college, and whom I have visited, so it was even more interesting to me because of that.
