I enjoyed this book but not as much as Light on Snow. The time period of the 1920's and the bit about trying to start a union in the mills was interesting, I just wish that some of the characters had been developed a bit more.

Wow, I can't believe how long this book has been sitting on my shelf! I enjoyed, as I do all of Shreve's books. And the house...that convent...her obsession with it is making me obsessed with it! I hope she keeps writing books set there, its creepy but really interesting!

Available to a good home!

'Not sure how this got from Dundas and Trafalger to the 2nd Cup at Navy Street and Lakeshore...anyway....I knew there was an OBCZ at that Navy location (went to a meetup there a couple of years ago) and ended up there yesterday with 5 friends. One of them mentioned they had picked up two books from the OBCZ shelf, but did not JE them. He took them to CUBA on a holiday. So, tsk, tsk, I said, explaining that it's only fair to make a JE (even anonymously and without joining up) and I said if he did it again, the Bookcrossing Angel of Vengeance would get him.
I like Anita Shreve - have read "The Pilot's Wife" and "The Last Time They Met".
I think I'll save this one for summer reading, as I'm in the middle of two books right now.
Wouldn't it be cool to get a JE from Cuba?

Poor sad book was unclaimed at the end of the BookCrossing social today so I volunteered to find it a new home...

I am sneaking in here with a 2nd copy of "Sea Glass". I really like Anita Shreve's books (almost as much as the other Anita - the late, great Anita Brookner). Anyway, this 2nd copy was left in our Little Free Library (#95058) near Acton, Ontario, and now it's been registered.
