Picked this book up today while going through the rather large pile of cancelled books at my local library.
Figured that it would be a good addition to my Book Crossing bookshelf and I've been meaning to read some Sherlock Holmes stories for ages.

I wrote this review in my journal after finishing the book last night and thought I should type it up.
As much as it is kind of shameful to admit these were the first Sherlock Holmes stories I have ever read. I've seen movies etc where characters were roughly based off those from Sherlock Holmes but of course that is not the same.
Much of this book was read 2-3 stories at a time before going to sleep so took me a while to get through.
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read. It has got me interested in reading more Sherlock Holmes stories.
The introduction, chronology and notes sections add to the reading experience, both for new readers and long time fans.
I'd recommend this book to anyone, even those who may not of read any mystery type stories before.
Not sure what I'll do with this book, I think I'll pick up another copy to add to my permanent collection at some point. One of my friends displayed interest in reading this book so may give it to her next time I see her.
