To be frank, I've read better translations and retellings of the famous myth of the three musketiers. Of course all the basics are covered: the ride to England, the betrayal by Richelieu, Mylady the Winter, etc., but the characters are not very believable and the sense of adventure is clouded with clutter from other plot lines. Still, it is in itself an entertaining adventure story, though hardly a thrilling one.
