For fans of Terry Pratchett's Discworld - here's your chance to visit. "GURPS Discworld" (re-released as "DISCWORLD Roleplaying Game") describes how to roleplay on Discworld, using the GURPS system (simplified GURPS rules included, but if you want to get fancy you'll need a few more of the GURPS supplements). [Spoiler warning: this book may give away various surprises in some of the Discworld books, so if you haven't read them all, be warned.]

Since this book's full of Pratchett's explanations as to how things work in Discworld realities, illustrated by Paul Kidby's sketches of many famous (or infamous) Disc inhabitants, it's pretty entertaining even if you're not planning to use it for gaming. From the three basic principles of the Disc (Life Force, Metaphor and Belief, and Narrative Causality) to modern technology (including "silicon chunk" technology - stone circles - and the popular new imp-powered devices), it's consistently funny, and adds an interesting perspective to the chronicles (the published Discworld books). Regarding time: "To be honest, the chronicles were never written to a tight, pre-planned chronology. Trying to fit a consistent historical timeline to the recent events described there is not only inherently difficult; it is actively misguided."

It'll be interesting to run a Discworld game...

[There's a TV Tropes page on the game, with some entertaining tidbits.]
