Pop Goes the Weasel
3 journalers for this copy...
Picked this up at the church youth group fundraising auction in a small basket of books.
I just got a copy of this book on audio, so it's time to move this book onto the available stack.
Listened to on audio, this was gripping, even though the reader knows who the bad guy is almost from the beginning. I stopped reading Patterson after he started churning out a book every few months. I do wish he'd take a lesson from Sue Grafton and slow down.

Afraid this is really not my kind of book. A black DC detective is convinced that there's a serial killer mainly after black prostitutes, but his racist boss doesn't want him to investigate. Meanwhile the plot also follows the killer, Shafer - bipolar (nice bit of stereotyping of the mentally ill here), drug-fuelled and with diplomatic immunity, playing an on line game with three companions. A fast-paced easy-read thriller but a little too predictable, and I find the idea of someone being aroused by violence against women distasteful.
I hope the next reader enjoys this more.
