"A Prologue To Love" is the story of the life of Caroline Ames, the richest woman in the world.
Caroline is a sensitive person who loves passionately and sees her surroundings with an artist's eyes, but her widowed father despised her because she resembled someone in his family that he hated, and he withheld his love from his daughter who worshipped and adored him.
He also instilled in Caroline a morbid fear of being poor, and his own twisted belief that money was EVERYTHING. As a result, "her heart is torn between love and cruelty, power and frustration."
I'm not a big Taylor Caldwell fan, but I really enjoy this novel! An excellent read!
