This was a good book. I thought it could have been a bit shorter, but it was interesting nontheless.

Here's a description of the book:
In the autumn of 1558, church bells across England ring out the news - Elizabeth is queen. One woman hears them with dread; Amy Dudley, wife of Sir Robert, knows that with Elizabeth on the throne he will return to the glamorous Tudor court. Amy's hopes that the ambitions of the Dudley family had died when Robert's father was beheaded are ended. The triumphant peal of bells summon her husband once more to power - and to a passionate young queen.
Elizabeth has inherited a bankrupt and rebellious country. Her advisor William Cecil warns that she will only survive if she married a strong prince, but the only man Elizabeth desires is her childhood friend.
Robert is sure that he can reclaim his destiny at Elizabeth's side. And as queen an courtier fall in love, Dudley begins to contemplate the impossible - setting aside his loving wife to marry the young Elizabeth.
UPDATE July 6, 2006: Although I think this would be a good book, my TBR stack is overwhelming me, so I must start cutting it down a bit. So this book has been cut. :( But I'm going to use it for either the Historical Fiction VBB or Swap, so it should find a new home. :)

Wow! I was very excited when I first opened this, thinking it was for Sunlight's m-bag. I even said, "that's it, i'm not shipping it till I read this one!" But it's for me! Hurray! I've wanted to read this for some time now, I hope it lives up to my expectations. Thank you.
