I loved this book. The author's retelling of Chris McCandless's life and death is truly haunting, and stays with you long after you've read it. This is one of those rare books that actually lives up to the hype. See more of my comments on this book here.

I've heard about this book and was mildly interested in it, so when a bookcrosser came into my teahouse where I work and showed it to me, I grabbed it! I look forward to reading it which I don't think should take too long. We'll see.

First of all, I'm surprised it has taken me so long to finish this book. I guess I just got lazy. But overall, I thought "Into the Wild" was a great retelling of Chris McCandless' experience. There were a few times when Krakauer took one paragraph and made it stretch for a couple pages, and turned a couple pages of material into a couple chapters. Maybe that's why it was so hard for me to stay in it sometimes. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful book and I plan to reccomend it to a lot of people.

Picked up at Tea Rex Teahouse and look forward to reading it.
What was this book about, the tragic death of Chris McCandless in the Alaskan wilds or the adventures of the author Jon Krakauer? Please Jon, keep your writting to the magazines.
