Another enjoyable Maggie O'Dell mystery. While the story was interesting and very fast-paced, I have to say I guessed the killer less than halfway through the book. But then again I don't follow the clues to determine the killer; I follow other lines of reasoning and no I don't read the end, ever.
Kava seems to be writing less dark and despressing books. In the first couple of O'Dell books I wasn't sure if Maggie was going to commit suicide or be killed by the, well, killer. In this one, Maggie has a better handle on her life and it is reflected in the storyline.
Not a bad way to spend the afternoon and never so tense that you couldn't read it alone in the house at night.
