The union negotiator had argued that any lock that could be opened from behind a keyboard in an entirely different section of the ship was unacceptable. The designer had argued that all modern ships had electronic locks. The union man had explained that if all people jumped off a bridge, he would be glad to see the designer follow. The designer had tabled the motion that union members ought to be shot.
