"When the ship was being built, the designers had wanted to put computer-controlled locks in the door. The unions were against it though. The designer, a brash young fellow, fresh out of college, had argued that computer-controlled locks were as good as mechanical ones. The union negotiator had argued that any lock that could be opened from behind a keyboard in an entirely different section of the ship was unacceptable. The designer had argued that all modern ships had electronic locks. The union man had explained that if all people jumped off a bridge, he would be glad to see the designer follow. The designer had tabled the motion that union members ought to be shot. The union member had explained that whilst shooting all union members was logistically impossible, he was in fact pointing a very big gun at the designer’s testicles right that very moment, ..."
