I don't remember which book I started with in this series, and I didn't get to read any of the books in order, but even so, I found this set of books to be very engaging, the main characters are very human, witty and charming.

When I discovered that I was going to be vacationing in Seattle this year, I thought it would be a great idea to do a Release Challenge with Mary Daheim's books there, since it is her hometown.

I have acquired all the books thus far in the series, and planned on releasing them all during my Seattle stay, however, my mom discovered the series on my bookshelf and has forbidden me to release any that she hasn't finished reading. (Gee, thanks, mom.) As a result, I will only be able to release about half of the series during my trip, but may be able to send the rest to another Bookcrosser to release later. Here's hoping.

Another wonderful and timely RABCK from spiritwolf922. Thank you! This one was another one of my cancer companions going with me to doctors appointments, etc. It's been lost on my desk for awhile and fittingly resurfaced today when I could add good news to the journal entry! The genetic profile test of the tumor shows it has a recurrence rate of as close as it statistically gets to zero! No chemotherapy in my future! I'm absolutely delighted. Just radiation treatment and anti-estrogen pills in my future. Yah!!!

I'm thinking about sending this one to my mother. I've been telling her about this series quite a bit. This one I think is particularly indicated as it deals with Judith's husband's retirement. Since my dad literally worked across the street and came home for lunch and dropped in other times in the day to pick up something he needed or whatever no one ever thought his retirement would be that big a deal. I laughed and laughed at Judith's trials with Joe. They sounded quite a bit like my mother's complaints about my father!

RELEASE NOTES:

Left it outside the main door. Since as I recall doctors are intregal to the plot it seemed appropriate.
