My mother and I enjoyed this series. We recommend it to others.

FRom the book:

"GROOM WANTED

Aleksandr Berinski was a brilliant Russian biochemist, but his days in the United States were numbered---unless he got married! And who else could make him a groom but the very woman who needed him to stay---Julia Conrad? Her company would go under without his help, and Alexsandr knew he'd be lost without Julia in his life.

Having once been betrayed by her emotions, Julia dared not risk any romantic entanglements. If there had to be a marriage, it would be one in name only---yet Alexsandr's passionate kisses, his tenderness and patience proved a challenging test to his "wife's" best defenses..."

I really enjoyed this Green Card romance. It just goes to show that if couples communicated better they would have way fewer problems.

I look forward to reading Bride Wanted and hope to start it soon.

Note:
There was a little confusion about where this book was going next. I got a pm from craftykat saying that starbrightxx did not sign up for this book. I am going to mail it to Valentina1209 who is a Debbie Macomber fan.

Thank you so much!

The theme of this story is so romantic! A business owner marries her genius product developer to prevent him from being deported, and as they live their life together, convincing the INS that this is a love-match and not a marriage of convenience, they slowly fall in love. At time, I grew weary of the icy protective walls Julia built around herself, which seemed to take forever to melt. Alek was a very patient man, but sometimes his persistent efforts to get through to Julia came across as too pushy. Still, I love these older Debbie Macomber books because even though they lack the "polish" of her later novels, they have a special raw charm.
