From Amazon:
A lighthearted, fund-raising anthology by Scottish women writers. In this hugely enjoyable anthology, established bestselling Scottish writers have joined forces with up-and-coming new stars to raise money for a very good cause. Poignant, provocative, hilarious and heartwarming in turn, this varied and memorable collection includes never-before-published stories by Jenny Colgan, Isla Dewar, Muriel Gray, Manda Scott, Tania Kindersley, Julia Hamilton, Sara Sheridan, Leila Aboulela, Helen Lamb, Abigail Bosanko, Shari Low, Sian Preese, Miller Lau, Aline Templeton, Morag Joss, Carol Anne Davis, Lennox Morrison, Carmen Reid and Katie Agnew.
I read some of the stories in this book, but I didn't like them enough to read the whole book. I really liked the first story, "In the Garden of Mrs. Pink" by Isla Dewar. I read it while waiting at the Tokyo railway station for the train that goes to the airport, and almost missed the train because I was so engrossed in the story. I had high hopes for "The Fringes", the novel by Jenny Colgan, as I loved her debut novel, Amanda's Wedding, but I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't as funny and light-hearted as I expected. The same goes for all the stories in this book: I think I expected more "fluff", funny chick-lit. These stories were more serious stories for young women, but by no means too serious.

Quite a perfect collection of short chicklit! The stories revealed just enough of the characters' lives, I wouldn't have wanted to know anything more. I mostly enjoyed the stories, but a couple left me annoyed and booooored. Perfect night-time book, you could just manage a story before nodding off...
