A Pulitzer Prize Winning Book this is definitely worth a read - captures the mood of America as well as the intricate web of feelings of a very successful person and his encounters with life. The horrors of the Vietnam war and the impact on families is the most vivid image the book leaves behind.The powerful climax literally "brings home" the war and destroys this successful person.

Good God this book was interminable. I started it in April. It was basically dissertation upon dissertation upon distertation with little vignettes of extemporizing mixed in. Yeesh! I am glad it is over, and I can cross it off my list.

I will be gleefully posting this off to the next reader as soon as I get an address. I hope it is enjoyed more in its future.
