Het huwelijk van Jim en Emma Freeling dreigt door spanningen op de klippen te lopen. In een poging te redden wat er te redden valt, gaan zij met hun twee kinderen op vakantie naar een idyllisch huisje op het Franse platteland.

Het lijkt een fijne vakantie te worden. Maar ’s nachts tijdens een hevige onweersbui zijn opeens de kinderen, Susie en Martin, spoorloos verdwenen. Jim en Emma zijn ten einde raad. De plaatselijke bevolking gedraagt zich vijandig en het lijkt wel of de politie hen tegenwerkt.

Na een paar dagen hebben de vertwijfelde ouders nog steeds geen nieuws van hun kinderen. Emma gaat overspannen terug naar huis, maar Jim wil het zoeken niet opgeven. De speurtocht naar Susie en Martin voert Jim naar het verleden. Achter het lieflijke uiterlijk van het vakantiehuisje blijken gruwelijke geheimen schuil te gaan…

Leaving an afternoon cinesneak at Louis Hartlooper Complex at Ledig Erf (Utrecht) the book was straight up facing walking passengers. Ofcourse it caught my eye, and I particularily noticed the white 'spot', now known by me as the sign for BookCrossing... Jahaa. I looked around to check if the former owner was still around (just curious), but noone seemed to act like the him or her: mys-teri-ous!

The content of the book doensn't really seem attractive to me though, so I'll put it somewhere soon to be found by another. As we have many tourists around the centre these days (hmm, Dutch book..), it may hook up with one of them and who knows where it'll ever get...
