I really enjoyed this book. It's witty, easy to read, and great vacation reading.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingI was cooking dinner when the post woman knocked on my door to deliver this wonderful book. Thank you very much! I look forward to read this one. Too bad I've just started a Terry Pratchett book today, because it's very difficult to restain myself from starting to read in this book. I'd better put it out of sight for a few days :)
Thank you again for this wonderful surprise!
BTW I loved the cute penguin stamps!

from Penguin.com:
A nervous breakdown seems like a great idea: all that lying in bed and watching daytime TV. But who's going to have it?
Will it be housewife Clodagh, who spends her days microwaving pasta for her demanding toddlers and waiting for her beautiful husband Dylan to come home? Or Lisa, hard, brittle and shiny as an M&M, reeling from the shock of a demotion from her fabulous job in London to a one-horse magazine in Dublin? Or Ashling, so normal she's weird?

I absolutely agree with you Nordique, it's a great read! The story is intriguing, and as always I really like how the story enfolds.
It's not the best novel from Marian Keyes I think because I'd like to read more about the background from the three women. However, it's a very addictive read, and I even started to like Lisa, the Boss from Hell!

Took this from today's BC meeting at OBCZ-Schlemmer in The Hague. Seems to be a funny book, my first aquaintance with Marian Keyes.

Well, I guess chicklit just isnot my genre. On the cover it says this book is hilarious, but it didnot once make me laugh or even smile. It is just a story about a bunch of bitchy, selfish, self-obsessed, thirty-something women who are only interested in how they look and how to get as many gorgeous men into bed as possible. The story rambles on and on for 563 pages without any real plot. Okay, in the end the main characters have all grown up a bit and learned something, but that is it. I could not feel any sympathy for them, except maybe for Ashling. No more chicklit for me, I am afraid.

The Dutch translation of this book has been on my shelf for ages, still unread. Since I prefer to read this kind of books in English, it's quite likely that I'll read this soon.

I liked this book a lot. The characters were very well put down, I think, and I liked the plot twists.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I finished this book during my stay in Amsterdam, where I visited the Manuscripta. I left the book in the Stay Okay hostel on the bookshelf. I finished the second part of the book in 1 day, as I lost interest in the book. Though these books are very popular, I think it's "more of the same" and after reading 200 pages, I just looked how the story ends. I hope this book will find a new reader who'll enjoy it.

Nice enough book. Really fun to find it in a hostel though, because I forgot to bring a book to read. It is currenlty in Belgium but I will try to release the book in Warwick University (UK) in week or two, after my sisters have finished the book.
