One of those books you hear about all the time and never seem to get around to reading. Picked this up in a charity shop adn keen to see what I make of it.

I haven't given this one a rating because I found it really hard to assess. I hated Tomas and that really coloured my feelings about the book. I cannot understand why on earth Teresa stayed with him. He was a selfish pig. Having said that I thought some of Kundera's observations about people were interesting.

Thank you soo much, bookfrogster! :) Have been wanting to read this for a while so I'm looking forward to it. Am slightly worried that I'll be disappointed, though, as I've read several of Kundera's books before and really like him, and this book has been so hyped up... Will let you know what I think of it!
