This series popped on my book recommendations at Amazon. After reading through the reviews I decided to try the first book in the series as it sounded good. I am really eager to read this now that is has arrived so I hope it doesn't disappoint me!

--------------------------

First Betsy Taylor loses her job, then she's killed in a car accident. But what really bites is that she can't seem to stay dead. And now her new friends have the ridiculous idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen, and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious power-hungry vampire in five centuries.

I really loved this book! Funny, interesting and very sexy!!! I have already been to Amazon and ordered the next book!

I really enjoyed Betsy's life (death) and all the funny things that followed. Kept me interested right to the end and also made me laugh alot.

Will see if there is any interest in a Bookring for this one.

...and the book arrived safely in Switzerland... :-) It will have to join the stash of bookrings first before I get to read it.

Journal Entry 5 by Morgaine77 from Münchenstein, Baselland Switzerland on Saturday, April 01, 2006
Just finished the book. Hmmm... I can't decide wether I liked it or not... I mostly disliked it. There were parts in it that were quite funny and hilarious and made me giggle. But mostly, I just thought Betsy was obnoxious. Her whole "I'm-so-hip-and-wearing-the-trendiest-shoes" attitude got on my nerves majorly. But maybe that's due to the fact that I myself don't care about shoes. :-)
Mostly I just wanted to slap her because she was so stubborn and - sorry to say so - dimwitted. And what the hell does she have against Sinclair? I could not understand at all why she disliked him so much.
I'm kind of curious about the next book in the series but I'm also not sure if I really should read it, since I dislike her so much. But hey, that's just me! :-)
Thanks for sharing Amberkatze. I'll pass the book on to sunlightbub sometime next week.

RELEASE NOTES:

The book is continuing its journey to sunlightbub in the UK. Enjoy!

I've been away for a week or so and this was waiting for me on my return!! I've read one other book by this author which I really enjoyed, and I seem to be reading a lot of Vampire books lately so here goes another one!! Thanks for sharing xxxxxxxx

Journal Entry 8 by Sunnybubble from Wallasey, Merseyside United Kingdom on Sunday, April 30, 2006
I agree with most of what Morgaine said. Rather than being a feisty likeable heroine Betsy is a brat! Quite enjoyed the book however. I've heard a lot of positives about this series, but I didn't think it was as good as Derik's Bane.
Thanks for sharing! I' ve pm'd welshhelen for her addy.

Journal Entry 9 by WelshHelen from Ponthenri, Wales United Kingdom on Thursday, May 04, 2006
Arrived safely today. Thank you Amberkatze and sunlightbub. I've got a couple of ring books ahead of this one but they're both pretty short, so should get to it soon :-)

Journal Entry 10 by WelshHelen from Ponthenri, Wales United Kingdom on Tuesday, May 23, 2006
I really enjoyed this book and didn't expect it to be quite so... sexy! :-) I must admit that Betsy's shoe fetish went right over my head (give me a pair of comfy slippers any day!) but it didn't spoil the fun of the book. I particularly liked some of the "smaller" characters - Marc and Betsy's Mum especially. Definitely on the look-out now for the follow-up books.

I have celticstar's address and the book will be in the post to her by the end of the week. Thanks for sharing, Amberkatze :-)

Just to let you know that Breeze144 has asked to be skipped so I have contacted the next person on the list 'boomda181'

Journal Entry 17 by OddballDave from Telford , Shropshire United Kingdom on Tuesday, June 20, 2006
Two days, all done. Where's the next?

As a fan of Anne Rice (Vampire) and Joss Whedon (Buffy and Angel) this sounded an interesting mix. About halfway through I realised where I had seen this character before...

Potential spoiler

The character is so like Harmony who was made into a vampire in Buffy, then went to work for Wolfram and Hart in Angel. A shallow creature more interested in fashion and Hello magazine celebrity. Yet charming with it. A fun book, which I enjoyed. Thanks for letting me sneak into the ring.

Journal Entry 18 by boomda181 on Friday, June 30, 2006
This arrived in the mail today! It is going to be a great book to start my summer vacation off with! Can't wait to curl up by the lake and start reading! Thanks, I will journal more soon.

Journal Entry 19 by boomda181 on Sunday, July 09, 2006
I jut finished the book, I PMed the next Bookcrosser and as soon as I have the address I will send it on.

At first I did not think I would like the book or series at all. About halfway through Betsy's quirkiness won me over. The characters are nuts, but likable. Thanks for the chance to read this book!

Journal Entry 20 by macdonv from Windsor, Ontario Canada on Saturday, July 29, 2006
Received this yesterday. Can't wait to jump in - I read the second one (Undead and Unemployed) first, and loved it, so I'm sure this one will be just as good. Thanks!

I love these books! Betsy is quirky, and shallow, and feisty, and a ball to watch. She's who I hope I'd be if I ever got turned into a vampire. :-)

Mailed off to morsecode this afternoon.

Journal Entry 23 by morsecode from Woonsocket, Rhode Island USA on Wednesday, August 23, 2006
This book arrived safe and sound in Buffalo, NY today.
I'm a bit bogged down with review books, but I'll try not to keep this book for too long. I'll sneak it in as lighter reading :)

Journal Entry 24 by morsecode from Woonsocket, Rhode Island USA on Thursday, August 24, 2006
I had a bad day at work yesterday so I decided to just skip the assigned reading and read this book last night.

I don't have terribly strong feelings about the book. It was a light, quick read. It was a little hard for me to relate to Betsy because her character is a little over-the-top. For me, she fluctuated from being sympathetic to completely unsympathetic. And, I like shoes as much as the next girl, but [highlight this next section if you want to see a spoiler comment --> I couldn't believe that she decided to fight Nostro just because (and ONLY because) Sinclair et al bribed her with designer shoes]. I did enjoy some of the supporting characters though.

I have the second book, Undead and Unemployed, so I'll definitely read that one. I'll have to see what I think about that one before I decide whether I want to read any of the other books in the series.

I've PMed the next participant for their address. I hope to mail the book out this weekend.

Journal Entry 25 by morsecode from Woonsocket, Rhode Island USA on Friday, September 01, 2006
I haven't heard back from vicki9170 as yet.
I'm going to send her another PM and then if I haven't heard back from her within a week, I'll move on to the next participant.

ETA:
I PMed RayneQueen for her address (8 September)

I'm mailing this book off to RayneQueen tomorrow.

I received this today, and am very much looking forward to reading it.

Journal Entry 28 by RayneQueen from Binghamton, New York USA on Sunday, September 17, 2006
Having read the previous comments, I expected better but also feared worse. I neither found Betsy too annoying nor endearing, and while the book wasn't captivating it wasn't off-putting either. I'm not exactly dying (haha) to know what happens next, but I'm kind of curious, and I'm glad I got a chance to read this. Thanks for sharing.

Journal Entry 29 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Wednesday, September 20, 2006
Just to let you 'Undead' fans know! I have the newest installment 'Undead and Unpopular' here (paperback) and it will be going out on a ring as well! Please PM (with mailing preferences) me if you are interested in this newest edition or any of the other books in the series (see my bookshelf).

If you are signed up to all the rings in the series I will do everything I can to make sure you will get the books in order!

Hooray, the book arrived safe and sound from fellow Austinite RayneQueen. Thanks! Thanks to amberkatze, Queen of Bookrings!

Journal Entry 32 by mellonhead from Austin, Texas USA on Tuesday, October 10, 2006
Wow, once I started it, it was a super-fast read. I really enjoyed it and didn't want it to end. I'm glad there are more and I can't wait to read them. The characters are fun (in the silliest and unrealistic-but-wouldn't-it-be-cool way and the dialogue is a blast. I've PM'd the next in line for her address.
10/18 - Mailed out today. Happy Reading mom2ty!

I am really annoyed to see this bookring end but it seems this book is missing. I am sorry to anyone still waiting for this book and hope you find another copy somewhere else because this is a great series.

Added to my bookrings that are missing list.
