I like all the Sneaky Pie 'thrillers'. They are friendly books, about sympathetic characters, set in a likeable environment. So I enjoy reading them, but don't need to own them.

I "found" this book in my mailbox today, a "controlled" release from Zeldesse in Utrecht. Thanks, Z.
Made a "controlled release" today. A few women in my neighborhood were holding a sale of secondhand things, including books. When I bought a lot of books in Dutch one of them asked me if I could easily read Dutch. I had to answer honestly: "No. I buy them to release for BooKCrossing." That led to a conversation where I had the chance to explain what BookCrossing is. The nice women told me to come back the day after the sale finished, when they would be disposing of whatever was left. They said I could have any of the books I wanted. I went back today to bring them BC flyers, and left a few on their "kassa" table also. The only book I had already labeled and registered was this book in English. I took it along as an example to show what a labeled BC book would look like. One woman said she could read English, so I left it with her. She seemed quite enthusiastic about the idea. When I left she was explaining the concept to another woman. So, I hope I've not only gotten free books (in a few days) but also a few new BookCrossers in my town.
