Thank you for sending me this book from my wish list! I'm looking forward to reading then releasing it!
The clear plastic paperback book cover on it is really cool, too. I've never seen one before--It seems really awesome, especially for BookCrossing books which get passed around a lot!
I really wanted to like this book, but I really didn't like it.
::sigh::
I did read the whole thing, but it just wasn't for me.
Parts of it were good, and very believable, and there are some great lines and great points, but overall...blah. Too many distractions.
One thing, unfair I know, that distracted me was that (maybe only because this is the British version of the book) there were a lot of British words and terms used, even though the story is set very deliberately in the US, and American themes are very prominent to the story.
Another thing that really bothered me was the TV stuff, and some of the police stuff, that I know is SO unrealistic. I work in TV news, so to "non-TV" people, it may play out fine, but those parts really distracted me, too.
Overall the story was OK, but just OK.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This is a wild release, but you won't be able to access it unless you work at WCPO, so I'm marking it "Controlled."
I'll be taking this book to work with me (at Channel 9) this week. Even though I said the TV parts bothered me, I work a lot of media-type people, so maybe the person who claims it will enjoy it.
I'll probably leave it somewhere in the newsroom.
