I bought this some time ago from a charity shop, so it already has a history. I have enjoyed Behind the Scenes at the Museum by the same author. I did not find this as easy to get into as the story kept jumping around so much. There were lots of interesting bits to the story too, little bits of knowledge and observation which made it turn more palliatable. I didn't enjoy the Land sisters who seemed to be complete snobs and appreciated the character of Lily-Rose who seemed to be the complete opposite.
It was good that the miserable life of jackson was improved beyond recognition.
Interesting idea about the interconnection of life.

Read this on holiday in Skye, I enjoyed it but did find I got the characters confused at first.
