Caught at Meet Up. Thanks Triggerfish! I've read this book already but this is the extended and resequenced version - hmm does that make it better though I wonder? (A bit like the Director's Cut of a movie.....). Anyway this will need to wait a while until i manage to source The Bingo Palace the last book in the series so that i can then read them all in sequence.

This is the first in Louise Erdrich's series of novels featuring several generations of Chippewa native Americans in North Dakota. It is a novel bursting with life and believable characters and gives interesting insights into Chippewa life. I really enjoyed the different narrative voices of the various characters. I liked the extra chapters too, though I feel that they added to the length of the book more than they added to the substance or the overall storylines. But Thanks, Triggerfish for sharing this longer version of the book!

Thanks to Oldbroad, who sent me the Bingo Palace, I can now just carry straight on with the rest of the books in the series: The Beet Queen, Tracks and The Bingo Palace.

Well sadly no-one wanted this book at the last Edinburgh Meet Up. They don't knpw what they're missing is all I can say there! So I've made it into a boxed set with Tracks and The Bingo Palace and will release at Always Sunday in the near future.
