I love Lois McMaster Bujold. That said, this is NOT her best work.Don't get me wrong -- it IS very good - but she can be an EXCELLENT writer (one of my favorites).
Hopefully it is enough to encourage someone to look her up and read the rest of her work. I couldn't bring myself to give up those book -- I re-read them far to often. Start with Cordelia's Honor, if you get the chance. Meanwhile, enjoy this one!
