I felt that I had to read something by Iris Murdoch after seeing the film Iris. People have told me that they've found her books really heavy going. This is the only one I've read, and it's her first. You can see there is a lot of thought and phillosophy in the story, but this one isn't really heavy going. It's about the misadventures of an Irish translator living in London and quite funny in places. I liked it.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Sending this one off as a trade for The Stornoway Way.
Thanks OP for this book which arrived today. You are right, it doesn't seem to be like Iris Murdoch's usual style, as the blurb describes it as "a series of fantastic and hilarious adventures." I look forward to finding out how accurate this one's blurb is!
