This is one of the first books I registered, so I have had it a long time. It has taken some time to read as it is a very dense, intense book. I have seen the film some years ago and the book sticks mostly to it, although some of the details are changed. I suspect it would be too gory otherwise for a film and too long!
It is a good reflection of what happens in war and some of the horrors perpetuated on both sides. I am glad I have read it.
