Thanks Santa!

====================================================

From the cover:

TRAVEL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE EARTH...
to a place you never dreamed existed.

BENEATH THE ICE...
a hand-picked team of specialists makes its way toward the center of the world. They are not the first to venture into this subterranean labyrinth. Those they follow did not return.

OVER THE ROCKS...ACROSS THE YAWNING CAVERNS...BEYOND THE BLACK RIVER...
You are not alone.

INTO THE DARKNESS...
where breathtaking wonders await you--and terrors beyond imagining...Revelations that could change the world--things that should never be disturbed...

AT THE BOTTOM OF THE EARTH IS THE BEGINNING. KEEP MOVING...
toward a miracle that cannot be...toward a mystery older than time.

Hmm...What to say about this book? I wouldn't say I would read this type of thing all the time, but every now and again it's ok for a change.

I wasn't expecting the "monsters," but the ending was pretty predictable.

Not great literature, but a page-turner all the same.

Hmm, wasn't what I expected really. I have read Deep Fathom by this author so thought this would be as good. I did rattle through the last 150 pages but it was mainly to get it finished. The story got more fantastical as it went on and totally unbleivable but then i guess that is what science fiction is all about really.
I guess it was a pretty good book for escapism into another world but not really a likely one under the Antarctic.
Thanks brooklinbrat for sending it, i will try to find it another home soon!!
