Synopsis - "Choose us. Choose life. Choose mortgage payments; choose washing machines; choose cars; choose sitting oan a couch watching mind-numbing and spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fuckin junk food intae yir mooth. Choose rotting away, pishing and shiteing yersel in a home, a total fuckin embarrassment tae the selfish, fucked-up brats ye've produced. Choose life."
Everyone has seen the fantastic film starring Ewan McGregor but how many have actually read the book? I for one haven’t but I want to and I’ve had this on my bookshelves for donkeys years, I hope that one day I’ll read this as I think Irvine Welsh is an excellent writer.

Thank you for the wish list book :-)
26 Nov 18 - I recently criticised a book for not being Irish enough, then picked up this a few books later which couldn’t be more Scottish if it tried. I found it hard going at first but before I knew it I was reading it in a Scottish accent. This isn’t for the easily offended, there is strong language from the first sentence and some of the scenes are quite disturbing. Each chapter is from a different persons view point and jumps about quite a bit, and I was unsure why, now having seen some reviews I see they are actually a selection of short stories which makes far more sense, shame my copie didn’t give me that info. I don’t think I’ve seen the film the whole way through, only bits of it so I’m probably not best to say how alike the two are.

Thank you so much for granting another wish on my never ending list. I shall do my best to read and release this one as soon as possible. And send you the book in return.
