We read this for our book of the month... I have always wanted to read it and have seen all the other books that reference this book. That being said - I'm not sure if I liked it. It drew me in - I think the writing was good. I didn't like the story but I don't think you were supposed to. It didn't end at all how I thought...

Am looking forward to the discussion.

Thanks so much for meeting me and sharing your book, ariesgirl. I enjoyed our little coffee-chat! Don't know how much I'll like this book but I did want to read it :)

An interesting book that I probably wouldn't have read if it hadn't been one of our Meet-Up picks. I had some trouble in the first quarter of the book with the "stylistic prose" of Nabokov's writing but I did get used to it. As someone who does not know French, I was a little annoyed that Humbert frequently lapsed into French sayings I didn't understand. Overall, the book was much more engrossing than I thought it would be.

I will bring this to Saturday's Meet-Up & you can have it back if you want it, ariesgirl. Thanks for letting me read your copy :)

Nabokov's prose is so much denser than most the other books I read. Overall, I enjoyed the book, though there were times I was ready to abandon it. I'm sure there's a lot I'd pick up if I re-read it, but I'm ready to pass it along.

Now I'm sending the book to Amsterdam, Netherlands via Bookmooch.com

Mooched this from the Netherlands via Bookmooch.com! It was for an Internet friend of mine so I'll be sending it to Newfoundland, Canada sometime before Christmas.

Crossed the pond from Scotland, and I plan to hang on to it for a while longer. It'll get sent along to someone, somehow, someday :D
