For a chocolate lover who needs cheering up
I picked up the book on the train going home from Windsor and Eton Riverside Station.
I was very pleased about finding it as I was between books anyway. The book was a light and amusing read, just the right thing after work. And it is about chocolate....(Need I say more?)
I work at Windsor Castle and my collegues are all keen to read it themselves.

Firstly, I have a truly dreadful confession to make... This book was actually given to me nearly three years ago by my friend and then colleague, Heike, who, I believe, found it on the Windsor Train from Waterloo. Only weeks later, I had the joyous task of moving house which resulted in poor Runcie being shelved away in the quagmire that is my junk cupboard. To all 'Bookcrossers' out there, I offer my most sincere apologies for stunting the travels of this book!
But now for my thoughts on the book itself. Easy to read and yet at the same time constantly engrossing, I’d say that this is the perfect book with which to beguile a lazy summer’s afternoon. This said, I’d also venture to argue that there’s more to Runcie’s modest writing style than might first meet the eye, as I suspect that behind this seemingly light-hearted love story is a deep thinking author who occasionally allows himself to surface, albeit fleetingly, in several discerning and thought-invoking passages. The only downside to reading this book, however, is that you will want to indulge in the SENSUAL delights of chocolate (okay if you’re stick-thin and in a cushy relationship, I suppose.)
Do give it a go, and happy reading!
