1994 Simon & Schuster hardcover with dustjacket bought at the thrift store. I loved the audiobook but it was abridged, so I thought I'd read the book, too.

God's Other Son was published as a paperback in 1981 and reissued in hardcover in 1994. It spent three months on the New York Times best-seller list, to quote Imus's bio: "driven there by listeners to his program who bought the @#$#%&# thing to get him to shut up about it."

From the publisher
Imus is back -- by popular demand -- with the Second Greatest Story Ever Told, the hilarious novel about the most outrageous TV evangelist of them all -- Billy Sol Hargus.

"God had two sons. Jesus was His first, and I, Billy Sol Hargus, am His second." From his backwoods Texas country-preacher roots, Billy Sol rose to dazzle the nation as a Superstar Minister -- preaching at sold-out stadiums and traveling across the country.

Reverend Billy raked in the dough, the fame, and the women. And then it happened -- just like Amelia Earhart and Jimmy Hoffa, Billy Sol vanished one day into legend, disappearing from the face of the earth. ...

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

This is one of many Bookcrossing books on a table in the second floor hallway at 149 York Street. It's a Yale building with restricted access, which is why I only make release notes for a few books (to keep the UBCZ on the Go Hunting page without flooding inboxes with alerts for unhuntable releases). If you have a Yale ID (or know someone who does), you may be able to get in. Use the door to the right; the door on the left goes to the basement.

Thanks for finding this book
Please write a journal entry letting all its past and future readers know that this book was found. (It's anonymous, and you don't have to join Bookcrossing to do it.) Then read and keep this book, give it to a friend, or even release it for someone else to find--just like you did. Happy reading!
