From Back cover
Garp is a book that captivates all who read it. Peopled with the most extraordinary characters you will ever meet, here is a novel that will make you laugh, make you weep, and, above all, make you think.
I found this one a little less eccentric than some of Irvings. Quite a tear jerker in parts. I really enjoyed it, although it's a while since I read it.

Thanks, heaven-ali. Will get to it eventually!
UPDATE:
No, I don't think I will get round to it. Irving is an author that has never interested me, although I think I should read at least one of his. One day, perhaps!

Snagged at meet up at Kitchen Garden Cafe.
It is indeed one of the 1001 books, and the only 1001-list Irving I was missing, so thanks very much :)

This was my first Irving and I really enjoyed it. Slightly strange, but I've never objected to that in a book...
There's loads I'd like to say about it but everything I go to type would spoil the book for anyone reading it after me. I suppose you could say that the whole book is full of suprises, really.
