Received a few books for Christmas and P. D. James was one of them. Looking forward to reading Lighthouse as the reviews are good and it will be my first of her novels.
To the Adam Dalgliesh mystery fans, I must confess I could not finish P. D. James' "The LightHouse!" I tried to make it to the hundredth page, but fell short by twenty-eight pages when I finally said, "Enough already!"
The San Francisco Chronicle reviews author P. D. James as: ..."raises the mystery genre to the level of serious literature with her finely crafted prose, playful wit, and keen eye for detail." All of which explains why I probably could not follow her plot and keep track of her many characters.
This book is available to anyone that is either familiar with and enjoys P. D. James' style or to those mystery fans who want to read a serious piece of literature full of extensive detail.
