This sounds a bit like Driving Mr. Einstein. Hopefully it is better than that book!

Chambana Bookcrossers!

Nope! This is not my genre, and I kept it to read to try and stretch my literary wings.

When I pulled it out last week it sounded like something I might now actually enjoy, more than before. I've settled some in my life and it seemed a better fit.

Unfortunately, I can't get past the first chapter. I was doing fine until the discussion of the granddaughter. I actively do not care to read about the granddaughter they haven't seen in years and might see on this trip. I don't know exactly why, but if the author had left that particular subplot out I probably could have handled the rest (and I do see some of myself in the book--it's still a stretch but one I could maybe settle into--at least give a better shota t), but it just makes me sad and angry about the granddaughter already.

I can't say if it's a good book or not. I just can say it isn't for me.
